I/O Card Setup for SDI - Blackmagic Decklink Quad 2 or Duo 2

For you to output your Singular graphics in an HD-SDI setup, you would need to configure your I/O card to have a Fill and Key signal. 

Hardware and Software Requirements

Required Hardware
  • Blackmagic™ Decklink Quad 2 OR Blackmagic Duo 2 card
  • PC x64
Required Software
  • Windows 10 x64
  • Blackmagic™ Desktop video

The following are steps on how to first download, install and then set up your Blackmagic DeckLink Quad 2 card (the following steps still work for the Blackmagic Duo 2 card).

Downloading the Driver

You will want to use the driver version 10.9.11 which is available to you at the BlackMagic website.

1 - Go to https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/support/family/capture-and-playback

2 - On the left side of the webpage, you’ll see the Latest Download list.

3 - Find Desktop Video 10.9.11 and select the Windows option

 

 

4 - When you select Window option, you’ll see another page. Select the Download File option

 

 

5 - When the zip file finishes downloading, you will see it on the bottom of your browser

 

Installing the Driver

1 - Click on the file and it will open a new window, where you will double click on Desktop Video Installer v10.9.11 to install the driver.

 

2 - You might get a Security Warning screen depending on your Windows setting, so if it appears, click "Run"

 

3 - Follow these steps to properly go through the installation process

 

  • Press Next

  • Press Next

  • Check the box and then Press Next

  • Select Install

 

4 - During the installation process, you will get a Windows Security pop up that will ask permission to install the device software.

  • Check the “Always trust software from “Blackmagic Design Pty Ltd” and then select Install

  • Do the same for the following prompt

 

5 - The last step after all the drivers have been installed is to restart your computer. So click Yes on the last prompt

 

Configuring the Blackmagic Decklink Quad 2 Card

1 - Launch the Desktop Video Setup application that is in your Start menu option.

  • *Windows 7: Start Menu -> All Programs -> Blackmagic Design -> Desktop Video

  • *Windows 10: Start Menu -> Blackmagic Design

 

2 - When the application launch, it should display your Blackmagic Decklink Quad 2 card

 

3 - When you go into the setting for each individual output, you will see the Video Output tab first. This is where you can select what reference you want and output settings

 

4 - Select the Connectors tab to verify that the connectors are set to SDI 1 & SDI 2, this allow SDI
