A Sprite Sheet is an image that consists of several smaller images or “sprites”. Combining small images into one big image "grid" is an easy method of inserting some fun animations into your composition.

Sprite sheets are easy to come by with a simple web search and come in all sizes and shapes. Best of all, sprite sheets are performance friendly, reducing memory usage and load time over the alternative of using a video file. If you want to really step up to the plate and create some amazing Sprite Sheets of your own, we recommend using Adobe After Effects.
